Mexican Billionaire Offers 65-Million dollar deal for Manny Pacquiao Fight in Mexico
"OMG! Bill Gates offered Manny to fight in Mexico. He’s pro–Mexican boxing fighters and a certified Pacquiao hater!"
Most of you probably thought that way but Bill Gates is out of the story. Let me include a little trivia in this article before going into the main topic. The current (2013) second richest man in the world according to www.forbes.com is no other than Carlos Slim Helu, with a net worth of $73B dollar. He used to hold the top spot, but Bill Gates reclaimed the title last May 6. Carlos Slim Helú is a Mexican business mogul and goodhearted person, who has at various times been noted as the world’s wealthiest person. He is the chairman and chief executive of telecommunications companies Telmex and América Móvil, and has widespread holdings in other Mexican companies through his conglomerate, Grupo Carso SAB, as well as business interests elsewhere in the world.
Now linking Carlos Slim to the main topic, this true blooded Mexican billionaire was reportedly planning to bring a wonderful boxing fight to his own country. Some claims on the internet noted a multi-million dollar contract offered to Manny Pacquiao to have a fight in Mexico. Well, this rumor could be true since this freakin’ billionaire is known for making big offers that are very hard to resist.
Having known Pacquiao, aside from being professional boxer and politician, he is also a businessman and there is a high chance that he might accept this if the terms and conditions will be fair and not one-sided. Now if that happens, who should he fight?
I’ve listed two boxers that can be the best options for him.
1. Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez
Being decimated by Marquez in their last fight, Manny will probably do all sorts of acts just to avenge his KO loss to Dinamita and prove that the knockout was just a fluke. However, Marquez, the whiner, recently stated that he will retire if he will not get a rematch with Timothy Bradley. Marquez was beaten by Bradley a few months ago by a wide margin in points. But if the price is right, he might accept the Pacquiao rematch because the offer will obviously give him a very good life or a bigger purse after retirement.
2. Saul “Canelo” Alvarez
This charismatic kid is an up and coming fighter, who became a champion at a very young age. He has a very huge fan base in Mexico, and a fight with a superstar like Manny Pacquiao will produce a blockbuster event if that will take place. He was defeated by no other that Floyd “Money” Mayweather. So, he will serve as another common denominator between Pacquiao and Mayweather just like Dela Hoya, Hatton, Mosley, and Cotto.
Aside from these two great Mexican fighters, who else do you think would be a good match with Manny Pacquiao? Will they be more profitable and entertaining?
